It’s been a long year of hard work for the wellness of your entire family, time in which you have been planing your next family vacation: you have already booked your plane tickets, your resort and even scheduled an activities program for all the journey, you have an eye sharply watching over your budget, you have everything under control, you are even prepared for the unexpected. Finally, the long waited day of packing arrives and you want it to be perfect, don’t want to miss anything useful on your holiday. Just relax, follow these simple but useful tips and in no time your luggage will be ready to go and you will have no concerns at all.
First of all, you have to spot the the most important, critical items, which may cause troubles on your trip, such as identification cards, passports and plane tickets. If you are traveling to a foreign country, be sure your passports and the required visas are up to date. Just as a preventive measure, in addition to take the originals, you can take photocopies of all air tickets, train, driver’s licenses, personal identifications and other necessary documents as backup in case of loss of the originals.
Study in advance your holiday destination, so you will have an idea of the type of clothing that should take in your suitcase. You do not want to fill your suitcase with winter clothes in a place where the temperature never drops below 70 ° F, for example, it is also advisable to check the weather forecast for the full week. It is also important to remember that airlines have limits for the size of your luggage, you might want to avoid extra charges on your flight, also, just make your trip more comfortable, carry only what you can, especially if traveling with your whole family. If you or any member of your family are under prescription, don’t forget to carry the necessary medications and the medical prescription along.
Make a list of the contents of every suitecase and keep it safe inside every one of them, this will help you when preparing to leave the resort, just mark each item on your list as you pack them back, it will be easier to find if you are missing something.
Other useful items on vacations are the photographic cameras, you may want to take pictures of everything so it is recommendable to carry an extra memory card and rechargeable battery packs and their respective recharger. It is also convenient to carry a cell phone if you are traveling within your own country, line coverage of your mobile phone may be restricted or in some cases generate hefty fees for overseas use, I recommend you better bring a small notebook or piece of paper with important and emergency numbers written or printed, if you find it impossible or difficult to access the content of your mobile phone, to call from a phone booth or from your resort.
Bring little money. If your destination resort is all inclusive, your wallet will not be needed too much, but it is advisable to travel with a small amount of cash to pay for transportation or shopping in places where credit or debit cards are not accepted. If you travel abroad, it is recommended that you set aside a portion of your budget and change the currency of the country you go to visit (Check out our post about the use of US Dollars in Mexico). Some places only accept their own currency, so it is better to be forewarned. As further advice, we recommend that you check your statement before leaving your city, so you have more control over your spending.
We hope these tips will be useful and make your vacation the most sensational.
Bon voyage!
